Want to help a college student out? - 10-20-2005, 10:00 AM

Hey gang,
I've been contacted by a college student at UNT that needs some help with an advertising project. She needs to have a few photographs taken at a location in Denton.

I'm not sure I'll be able to help her out, given my schedule this weekend.

Since she's (as she put it) 'a poor college student', there's no compensation except credit for the images and the good feeling you get when helping someone else out.

Anybody interested? PM me for info.

Thanks!

UPDATE:

I should mention that she's on a time line.....she needs to have the images shot either tomorrow (Friday) or Saturday. Her project is not due until Wednesday of next week, but she would like to have images in hand by Monday at the latest if you need time for processing etc.

We've had two volunteers so far, so I think we may have it covered, but if you're interested in this, please still PM me and I'll pass your info on to her.

Thanks!

i seriously hate when people use that "poor college student" excuse. buy someone a meal at mcdonalds or something for the trouble.

Thanks for your commentary, Matt. I'm guessing that means you aren't volunteering.
Funny, some people have really good hearts, and will help others out in a pinch, even if there's no compensation.

I don't think it's so much "good hearts" vs bad hearts, i think it's just whether a person has been helped out when they were in the same situation, so they might feel they have to pay it forward.

reason for editing: changed my mind :)

Is there a certain theme for the project? Like, *Wildlife* Or *The City Life*?

If I was not going to be in San Antonio this weekend, I would gladly shoot the photos for the student. but I know that there are some on here who will step up and help them out.

I look at it this way. You help them out and one day when you need help someone will step up.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

its just a fact of life that people need a reason to make another person a bit sympathetic or empathetic for them, ive seen way too many cases where someone uses the "im poor" line when there are people in worse conditions. the same people that complain about being "poor" are slinging around 2k camera setups or driving 30k cars. it what ive been exposed to, if you need help thats one thing, but dont say its because you are poor.
