Bob,

I thought I saw you to my right but you packed up pretty quickly there. I was the 2nd photog to your left near the corner of the garage. Thanks for letting me know about the spot, it was nice having the wind push the smoke away from the new fireworks

Great shot of the moon, talk about right time and right place.

Paul

Tried to beat the traffic, but didn't quite succeed. It wasn't to bad. The worst part was getting out of the parking lot. You got some nice shots. You did a lot better on the plane with the sparklers than I did. I was trying a faster shutter speed at high ISO and just firing continuous bursts. Got a handful of keepers.

Couple more and then I'm done till next year.

These pictures had the moon in them but it was completely blown out. So I placed a non-blown out moon on top of the blown out moon.

Very cool shots everyone.
I did actually go to meet up with a graphic artist I work with but drove around and around and couldn't find her place. So thanks for sharing pics. There were tons of people out there.

No airshow.
Just some flyovers, according to the website.

That's too bad. I was just looking into the details for this weekend, since I was working last year. Does anyone know of anything similar within driving distance of DFW? If not anything with the airshow/fireworks combo, how about a recommended spot for shooting fireworks? We haven't been in the metroplex too long, so we don't know the good spots to set up for a show.

We went last night.... fireworks didn't seem to be as big this year. Slipped on wet pavement and went flying face forward with the camera. Needless to say, I didn't get any photographs of the fireworks... and I'm trying to resist the urge to go out and buy a new one before I can take the 50D in to have it looked at.

I feel naked without my camera.
