Question Need a grunge look... - 07-15-2009, 06:16 PM

Tomorrow we are planning on shooting our assistant who is absolutely gorgeous, but she wants to grunge it up a bit. She's bringing her "emo" gear and we need a good "emo" setting in Fort Worth. Preferrably one that I DO NOT have to bring my Glock .40 though! Anyone have any ideas?

Deep Ellum has a very grungy feeling to it. I can't think of anywhere in FW.

Yeah, we thought about Deep Ellum, but wanted to stay in FW. If we can't find anything we'll be heading there I am sure.

Sorry I would suggest lots of great areas in North Fort Worth but doesnt sound like thats where you want to go. The area is where the Stockyards is located.

there is a few spots with several Graffiti walls...nice walls with aluminum makes for great look..

example:

Makes for a nice emo style grunge...

but also there is a few old building and a few warehouses that are also great for backgrounds...

Right by the stockyards, as you exit the parking lot, there is an old, run-down, and closed factory. It has some brick walls, lots of broken glass and windows, padlocked doors, and chain link fences. Also a few walls with misc white paint on them, and some train tracks nearby (obviously).

It might benefit you best to drive around FW with your model and play it by ear. I usually see some pretty cool spots when I'm cruising FW, just never get the addresses.

Once you shoot Grungie, you might want to process that way as well. If you use Lightroom, I can send you a Grunge preset that would be a good start.

I was going to have them shoot it in my office at home, but the Health Department just condemned the room as a "toxic waste area"

I just climb under all the yellow tape and surf TPF.

We did... but we didn't get to do the grunge look. Its been put off for another week. The assistant wasn't able to make it today, so we just did the engagement shots, then went to eat at Billy Miners and did some playing with the 8mm fisheye downtown...

I'm packing this thread away for reference next week!
