Well since Saturday is forecast to be 100 again in North Dallas I'm thinking of spending the afternoog in Addison at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. Anyone interested in meeting up feel free to drop me a message.

I have never shot there but would like to check it out. What time are you going to be there?

I was thinking around 1 this afternoon.

questor added 389 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below

Well so much for my thinking... lol I was hoping that with the temp hovering around 100 that the museum would be slow..... yeah shows how smart I am. The place was packed, and 5 minutes after I arrived 3 cub scout troups showed up. Trying to get shots with all those people there was just a bit difficult.
I'm thinking that I will go back some time during the week when it is slower.
They have lots of really great aircraft but most of them are so packed into the hangers that it is very hard to get any kind of good angles.
I'm working on some of my shots and will post them up later.

I went to the Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio a couple of weeks ago with the idea of spending a day shooting there which I did. I love airplanes and photography so the day was a blast but I was disappointed with the photos that I took. Like you said, it is tough to get a good angle on planes that are in tight quarters inside. The lighting is horrible and it is tough to use strobes well when you only have limited public access to the planes.

They did have a military photographers exhibit which was really good. The displays are incredible.

I might just have to get more creative about how to photograph under these conditions.

Yeah when I get back home I plan on going back during the week when it is less busy and see how much leeway they will give me in trying to get better photos.
Working 12hr days 7 days a week right now doesn't leave me much down time so I down loaded photomatix and am playing with it while I learn to use it.

Lousy shot but playing with it in photomatix helped somewhat. Now if only that had more space between planes.
