Unhappy Drought Effect - North Texas - 11-05-2005, 11:01 PM

The lack of rain in North Texas continues to have a strong effect on the water levels in local lakes. This is Elkins Lake in Dalworthington Gardens -- about to become a mere group of ponds.

It's really getting bad Bruce. That photo pretty much says it. I think we're about 12" down from our yearly average of rainfall. We need lots of rain real bad.

I was out at Joe Pool the other day and even the wildlife were non-existent. The lake is way down as is just about ever water source.

For the first time a owl visited my backyard to avail himself of my birdbaths.

Lake Arlington is 9 feet under. I'll see if I can get a pic up soon.
