Family portrait trade - 10-28-2009, 10:40 PM

My wife would really like to have updated family portraits of ourselves. Wanted to see if anyone has the same desire and would like to work out a trade. Any group and individual shots taken of us can be used in a portfolio, although not sure images of me will win you any more clients. I'd expect the same permission from you.

In my photo: me (Yeah, sorry ... I've got to be in the photo, too), my wife, two boys ages 6 and 2 and possibly our very sweet Border collie Max – the one in my current avatar.

You: Your familial unit.

Will work out the details with whomever is interested. We live a few miles north of downtown Fort Worth. Location of the photos isn't as important as good light to me, but closer to home is preferable. Any takers? Please respond here or via PM.

I would love to.. but I'm still way too green to do another photographer's family photos. With people who aren't experienced photographers, I've found that I can at least fake it through the process. I'm still all about practice, practice, practice.

Todd,
this sounds very interesting as long as you can promise to do a major enhancement on my image.

I live in Allen,TX and unless we are doing the pictures on the same day and at the same location, we'll need to travel to each other location.

Let's talk details a little more if you think this could work for you.

Another way I've handled our family portrait in the past has been with remote/timed release. Not always easy but I don't know if you've considered that or not.

Edmond

Thanks for responding Kasi and Edmond.

Edmond: I was thinking that two sessions might work better, but I'm definitely open to suggestions. My weekend bookings are light right now, but might pick up pretty soon. I've done the remote/self-timer thing with some good results, but if our dog is involved it would be best if I stayed in one place. I'm his favorite person in the world and he'd keep following me around.
