Not trying to be a wise guy but Urban can mean a lot of different things.
Downtown Mckinney is pretty Urban if you are used to the country.

One of my favorite places is Deep Ellum... every turn is something different. I have my clients meet up at Zinis Pizzeria or Cafe Brazil on Elm Street. My favorite "blue wall" is just a couple of blocks off. There's a huge police presence but if you have gear to lug around take someone along with so you don't have to worry about laying something down and can focus on the shot.

Here's a link to an engagement shoot I did there not too long ago to give you a small glimspe of what's there... password is deepellum (all one word and lowercase)

So what is wrong with Mckinney? But then I guess that tom is right it all depends on what you mean.

I've shot in deep ellum before also. there's a wall there that is painted like a flag, and lots of old steps and garage doors, grafitti, etc.

Sounds like the town I live in! Maybe even the neighborhood.

Depends on how far you want to drive. The possibilities are endless in downtown Dallas and Fort Worth. Might be abandoned or empty-looking places closer to you.

yeah you might want to go to a small town in denton county and just scout it out. Aubrey has this old factory right by a railroad track...ive shot there, the factory is very rusty and run down and you can shoot there w/o a problem. plus there is a railroad right there.
