Look for a good location (NDallas? Carrollton?) - 11-11-2009, 11:34 AM

I am trying to schedule a family session (for their holiday photos) and I want to find a spot in between them and myself. They live up by Lavon Lake and I am coming from the mid-cities. I was thinking some place in North Dallas or Carrollton would be good, but I am no particularly familiar with those places.

Any suggestions?

Celestial Park in Addison? Near the Tollway and Beltline.

Old Downtown Carrolton is nice-ish but I wasn't all that impressed by it. Here is a session done mostly in that area. The rest is actually done in the Addison circle area. I like Addison circle and the surrounding area - quite a bit of variety.

Here is a session that was in part at Celestial Park and part at Addison Circle Click me!

There are several historical places very similar to that that will let you shoot for free. McKinney has their area and Frisco has an area too that's close to Pizza Hut park.. There is also always downtown grapevine. Not sure why anyone would pay for that when they can get the same thing for free. :D

Not sure if this is too far, but it's not far off of 121. It's in Coppell. I've shot two engagement sessions there, and I just love it. It's called Grapevine Springs. It's an historical park. The address is 700 S Park Rd, Coppell, TX. From McKinney, it takes me around 20 min. to get there since it's mostly freeway (121).

St. Andrews Church: *Home*&#124* St. Andrew United Methodist Church

But only shoot there in the afternoon starting around 4:00. They have a great creek and some other nice options and this is right in the middle where you wanted to be.
