Baby Jaguar @ Ft. Worth Zoo - 11-11-2005, 10:56 AM

Last week we were at the Zoo trying to get some shots of the Lion cubs but with no luck.

The baby jaguar was out but I had to borrow my wife's camera to get these shots because I couldn't get close enough with mine.

These were shot through glass with a
350D and 70-300 f/3.5-5.6 IS @ 1600ISO,1/50, f/5.

Jim, that jaguar is so cute! What is that behind him - a blanket? Where in the zoo is he?

Thinks Jim!

He is cute now but when he grows up it is a whole different thing.

He had a blanket and pillow to lay on. The first time we saw him he was laying in a pet carrier.

He is located right next to where the Oceolot is, which is next to the Cougar and Jaguars. He is in a glass enclosure in a nook across from the Eagle.

I don't know what they call that area of the zoo but that is where they keep the raptures, coyotes, jaguars, cougar, bobcat, oceolot, and now the baby jaguar.

Thanks - I think I know where that part of the zoo is. I'll check it out in a couple weeks when I go back.
