Cool Crazy Texas Weather-White Christmas? - 12-24-2009, 12:58 PM

75 Yesterday- SNOWING outside of Downtown Dallas right now (34 degrees)- Blizzard Warning just 70 miles to the West and one weather guy said that he expects it to be extended to cover DFW area so may have up to 5+ inches of snow with high winds.

Said first White Christmas in Dallas in over 80 years! I've seen snow falling on Christmas but never a White Christmas which they categorize as 1+ inches of snow on the ground.

BTW the Snow is a WET heavy snow and it is coming down pretty good- if it continues may grab a camera and start shooting near sunset.

35 in Killeen and the wind is howling. Snow flurries were blowing a few minutes ago when I was outside but it won't stick. It's just blowing around and in small quantities. But a white Christmas would really be cool.

My 16 year old said that would be a traditional Christmas. Heck, he has been in Central Texas all his life, a white Christmas would be anything but traditional.

I'm excited about a white Christmas. It started snowing here about 8:30 this mornning and didn't stop until about 30 minutes ago. You can't even see the roads. I LOVE it!

Well all you Texans need to move here to southern Oklahoma! We've gotten almost 10 inches of snow today, and it's still going!!! All of I-35 is shut down in the entire state. Makes for a great Christmas tomorrow sledding, building snowmen and having snowball fights. Hasn't happened here since 1919.

Coolness!

I doubt that the snow will reach all the way down to us in Houston, but the wind has been howling for the past several hours, and the temps are still dropping. It's 39F on my patio right now and falling. Don't see any evidence of precipitation though. But one can hope, I s'pose.

Merry Christmas, Chris! Sorry you gotta work and got snowed/iced in.
My F250 truck broke down going home from the bank yesterday. I was just about to leave out to visit my other half's family in Weimar which is about 150 miles away.
I managed to putt putt home to park the truck until Monday when my mechanic can fix it. Stupid power packs!!!! At least it didn't happen on the highway and have to pay a tow.

I feel like I'm stranded!!!

Sandy

I ran out this morning (pissing the wife off) at 7am to the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens to catch the snow undisturbed.
