Gorgeous shots! - 02-28-2005, 11:28 AM

I can't wait to go this year and try my hand at some floral photos. Any lens suggestions? I have a rebel, and I only have three to choose from as of now...the kit lens, a 50mm 1.8, and a 75-300mm IS USM. I hope I can get some decent shots with one of those (or combination thereof). Is anyone organizing a meetup to shoot?

Thanks Abel & Sheldon!

Laurie I think the lenses you have will work ok. I don't have any personal experience with them but I have found that a good wide angle works well for pano shots and your 75 -300 may work for close ups of the flowers.

I use a 17-40 f/4L and 24-70 f/2.8L for general stuff and I use a 135/f/2L for my flower shots.

Here is a link for another post on the Arboretum so you can get an idea of other photo ops.
