Got a chance to hit the Fort Worth Zoo today, it was a mix day, good light one min. and bad the next.
I checked on the cubs and they were no were to be found, I did this about 3 times but no cubs. The 4th time when I went by the Dad in the pin next to them was really roaring and I think it scarred the little ones out. They were only out for abut 5 min., the light was not good the sun had just gone behind the clouds, and the cubes were in the shadows and I didn't have my flash.
The shots are not as sharp as I would like but I guess they are better then not getting them at all.
Todays gallery of the rest of the shots. http://www.pbase.com/wlhuber/zoo_trip

Then there is this one that I liked form the shot today. I did crop it down but I think I like the crop.

That first one is fun! Anyone who's ever had a housecat can see their friend in that shot. :)

Nice shots Bill, and welcome back. Was wondering where you wandered off to.
I was in Dallas this weekend visiting my brother and we made a trip over to the FW Zoo. The lions cubs never came down to the lower section of the exhibit to play though, mostly just slept. Oh well, still had a fun time; that's one heckuva zoo you guys have up there, now I'm going to be depressed every time I go to the Houston Zoo.

I really enjoyed your shots, Bill I am trying to find a way to make it over there myself. Was planning for this weekend but don't think it's a good idea now. So no one post any great shots from this Friday or Saturday!

I think I like the second one, it just look like it is ready to take over the pride.
But from the whole day of shooting I guess this is my pick, I am not sure why, it has something to do with the lighting, but I really love this shot.

Bill, those are good shots of the cubs. I'm thinking to get a shot you have to be lucky. So many people come from miles and never get to see the cubs. Nice shot of the zebra too. Light and DOF is graduated while sharp around the business at hand which is eating some grass. Glad to see you posting again. | | | |
