from what I can best tell. . . .(courtesy of F16.net)

the other pods underneath appear to be auxillary fuel tanks. . .

I'm hoping those are dummy ordinance and they are just training the guy how to handle the plane with that load.

Nope... They're live rounds and yes, those are long range drop tanks and a cargo pod.

I was going to say I had no idea an f-16 could carry so much ordinance and lr fuel tanks. I don't remember seeing sparrows mounted on the wing tip hard points before either. Usually that's where they carry the sidewinders.

It is my understanding that these UAE birds have a more powerful engine than most F16's used by US ??

The P&W F100 was 24,000 lbs but there was supposed to be a 27,000 lbs F404 or something like that.

Yesterday while they were landing North, I tried to duplicate your downtown shot. NO GO.
I found the spot OK, but I would need to climb up on my roof to get that great angle. If you've seen me, you know that would not be a good idea.

Tom, I'm lucky if I can get up and down off the bumper of my Tahoe without breaking my neck.

Actually Tom, where I got that shot was not at the WSR loop-over. . . it was down the road a ways south. . .there is a spot where there the barbed wire fence has a gap in it. . . great place to be when aircraft are landing runway 17 (heading north). . . it's directly across from the church at the top of the hill towards Wal-Mart. . .
