Geez, I know this is an expensive thing to borrow but I just found out I'm going to be the main photographer at my cousin's wedding! My plan is to use my D200 and D50 bodies, then take my 80-200mm 2.8 and then the lens I need to borrow would be a 24-70mm. I'm thinking about fast lenses in case I can't use flash. Between now and March 17, I'll be doing all I can do get prepared - the wedding is on the 20th in my home town in Louisiana.
Thanks for any tips, info, leads, etc.

There's several lens rental outfits you could choose, probably the easiest/safest choice.

Lens rental is the way to go here. I've rented from Camera Stop in Plano, and I've heard that Competitive Cameras in Dallas rents as well.

I'm going to check camera stop tomorrow and then go from there. I was really hoping I'd be the 2nd shooter or even 3rd, but I'M IT. So, I've asked my cousin for a list of photos she definitely wants and then I'm going to just do my best. This is not her 1rst wedding, but I'm gonna give it my best shot. Now gotta learn how to use my light meter!

Weddings aren't easy. If you don't know how to use your equipment you are risking a very ticked off bride. They just don't understand that a fancy camera isn't all you need. Are you being paid?

My cousin is well aware of my lack of experience and the light meter is the only thing I haven't had the time to work with - I'm starting that today. As for payment, dunno if or how much. My uncle is in very bad health and I'm just not going to push the issue too much. Also, this is not her first wedding - but I'll still do the best I can - by the time I leave for LA, I"ll have at least "book knowledge" of what I"ll be doing - if you understand that expression.

Why do you need to borrow anything? You've got a good 2.8 zoom, and you've got a 50 1.8 prime. That should cover most of what you'll need, unless your doing large formal group shots. And at that point you could use the two SB800's off camera and your kit lens. You might loose some picture quality with the kit lens, but it doesn't sound like its something that they'll be making wall murals out of.
