The Jakester's First IRs - IR - 11-17-2005, 11:38 PM

Jakester, Panther, and I went out to expose, as it were, Jake to some Infrared Photography. We had a grand time shooting together, and Jake got a taste of the IR addiction.

Jake - Canon D30 modded for IR, and a 15mm lens.

Panther - getting some foliage shots.

We met a couple of guys who had just finished restoring this Studebaker truck, and were out for some pictures of it parked in front of the Courthouse.

Craig loaned me his fish-eye lens for a few shots. Opens up a whole new world of IR possibilities.

Cool shots Jerry. Anyone still have IR film? That way I could at least play around with IR before spending money to get a digital camera and have it converted.

Thanks John, IR film is still available. Lulalake does some at times, as well as some excellent digital IR. You might PM him with your questions. He also hosts an IR forum on Yahoo:

Howdy Jerry - 11-18-2005, 09:11 AM

Howdy Jerry,

Those really turned out neat, I think Jake has had a taste of the "Dark Side of IR" so no need to send that IR D30 back to Roger<G>.

I really like the look of the way the truck and the plants turned out.

Before you use the IR film be sure your camera can handle it ... I finally opened the user manual on my Canon SLR and the SLR cannot use it.

such is life ....

BTW, I really like how the last one turned out
