Arlington is interesting, if only because of Jerry World (the new Cowboys Stadium) and Nolan's House (The Ballpark) and Six Flags (not sure if it's open or not). Some interesting night shots would add to your portfolio of landscapes!

Start driving South on Lakeside Drive from Beverly Drive. Lakeside Drive jogs West at Armstrong, then continues, turning into Turtle Creek Blvd. The point at which Turtle Creek Blvd. turns into Cedar Springs Road marks the South end of the scenic drive. These roads run along Turtle Creek, a rather scenic urban creek. Some of the homes whose back yards border the creek are very nice (and expensive). I don't think the azaleas are yet in bloom, but they can be spectacular.

Numerous times I've seen bridal portraits being shot in this area.

Searching Google Maps for "turtle creek blvd, dallas, tx" will center the map in the right place.

I happen to like the Dallas Zoo.

Check out Cedar Hill State Park, and the adjacent nature preserve. They're not far from Interstate 35. The hills are heavily wooded with some nice trails.

You could always go to preston hollow and try to get some photos of former president Bush but I bet that Secret Service might be an issue

If you shoot landscapes, there's plenty of places not far from the mall. This one is in Wylie at their small nature trail. There's also a nice place in East Plano with a small lake with all kinds of ducks and gulls on one end and a nature trail on the other end.
