Start driving South on Lakeside Drive from Beverly Drive. Lakeside Drive jogs West at Armstrong, then continues, turning into Turtle Creek Blvd. The point at which Turtle Creek Blvd. turns into Cedar Springs Road marks the South end of the scenic drive. These roads run along Turtle Creek, a rather scenic urban creek. Some of the homes whose back yards border the creek are
very nice (and expensive). I don't think the azaleas are yet in bloom, but they can be spectacular.
Numerous times I've seen bridal portraits being shot in this area.
Searching Google Maps for "turtle creek blvd, dallas, tx" will center the map in the right place.
I happen to like the Dallas Zoo.
Check out
Cedar Hill State Park, and the adjacent nature preserve. They're not far from Interstate 35. The hills are heavily wooded with some nice trails.
