Engagements - 03-19-2010, 06:51 PM

I have an engagement shoot next weekend they are not picky about where we go. I'm thinking Grapevine because it's close to them and has a great downtown and a garden, I have read your other posts.

My question is.... Is there anywhere else close thats really great there or should I plan on the Arboreduim? What is your favorite place to shoot in the area? and anyone with pictures would be great. There are so many place on here I'm having a hard time decideing. The Canals and Mckinney..... I just can't pick so any advice is helpful.

thanks

Next weekend - certainly not Arboretum...it will be very very very crowded.. (slightly less so if you go there during the first hour of opening..9am) It's generally a nice place to shoot and provides a lot of variations...but during March weekends, it is crowded like "all the people in the DFW metroplex are trying to be there"!

Downtown Grapevine has a ton of possibilities. Keep in mind that professional photography at the Grapevine Botanical Gardens requires a permit/fee reserved in advance, as does professional photography at the Canals in Las Colinas. If they're not picky, go for the millions of free locations. There are some really pretty parks around Lake Grapevine, some might have an entry fee.

If they want something Western, the Fort Worth Stockyards is a good choice (as is downtown Fort Worth nearby).

Try to focus the session on the couple, and not so much on the location. With this in mind the options are endless.

With that said, downtown GV can be really fun.... same with the GVRR area.

Cheers,

W

The Cotton Mill is amazing, but there is a fee. Just shot there the first time and I am in love with that place! I use grapevine a ton when someone doesn't want to pay an additional commercial fee.
