Bluebonnet hunt today or tomorrow - 04-05-2010, 08:18 AM

I'm contemplating a little road trip to find some bluebonnets either today or tomorrow from Fort Worth.
Anyone have any sightings or recommendations?
Want to "tag along" (since I wouldn't be paying you).
Have to be back home in time today for 24.
No time restraints tomorrow (tues).

South - go south. The Hill Country is reporting some really, really nice fields. I know that's several hours from you but could yield some nice results. Record "24". Or, you could head to Ennis but I would imagine it's too early for much coverage.

Leave early, early in the a.m. Head down 281. I'm reading/seeing pics of the Llano, Burnet, Mason area that are really good and still not at peak. Call me later. I can send you some maps of the areas I am talking about if you are interested.

Ha! I so wish I could go with you but I must be patient for another week and a half, or so. The rule is that you have to post pics when you get back though!

Tom:
For what it is worth I ll bet this would be a great trip and am sure you would keep things lively. It is tempting but for me I owe I owe so off to work I go. You know if you do go south Salido is great and turn west going to marble falls. Pretty country. I too await to see your captures.

On the north side of DFW airport on 121 there are a lot a blue bonnets along the side of the east side of the road between the toll booths and I-635. If you angle it right, you can get the plane in flight with the blue bonnets.

+1 on 24

took I 35w to Homestead Heritage, got there 1.5 hrs before they open.
Went west to China Springs, Crawford, Osage, Cranfills Gap, Fairy, Hico,
Stephenville, Granbury, Acton, Ft.Worth.

Lots of BB's but not the fields full as I had hoped to find.
I'll post some pix ASAP.
