Is Village Creek worth a visit?

I know we have a couple of members that live near Village Creek Drying Beds but I haven't seen anything from there lately. It looks like I will have a free weekend coming up and was thinking of running down there to look for birdies. Is it worth the trip lately? Thanks

It's definitely worth a look. I was out there this morning and saw at least 10 Mississippi Kites, a Green Heron, a Little Blue Heron and a Great Blue Heron. There are Wood Ducks, Black-bellied Whistling Ducks and Mallards. Plenty of Red-winged Blackbirds and a couple of weeks ago I saw three Yellow-headed Blackbirds. In a couple of weeks all of the sunflowers will be blooming which I think makes for even better pictures.

Thanks for the info Ben & welcome to TPF. I didn't make it out to Village Creek last weekend, but am going to try again in the next couple of weeks.
