I ran over to the lake and took a few shots of the area
Winfrey Point at White Rock Lake Photo Shoot 7-10-10 Photo Gallery by pgkps at pbase.com
Tried to explain what the shots were for and what was in them. That wall of Bamboo which is trimmed very flush with the road may be a fantastic background to do a sunset shot or too with the sun lighting the scene-faces kinda of WSW.
I poked around Model Mayhem and didn't see anything going on in Dallas that day and if anyone knows of another place to advertise for models please feel free to do so or if you know of someone who would like to model for us.
While I was out there Match.com corporate office, I guess or it could have been a Match.com Event, had the Winfrey Point Clubhouse booked and they had 2 Dallas Police Officers in uniform hired to cover the facilities (they actually came over and asked what I was doing and I said that I was just grabbing a couple shots of the building and they said that was fine with them). No one from the event asked me anything but I was only there by the building for a few minutes.
The distance from the "photographers" parking lot to the dock at Pelican Bay is maybe 1/2 mile along the road/bike trail and fairly level. There is quite a bit at Pelican Bay to shoot around and it is quite shady and I would think that we would then go from there towards the lake just below the Clubhouse to catch the sunset lighting. The Marina is farther up the lake than I thought (past the Bath House Cultural Center maybe 1.5 miles away) and is just at the edge of a couple of the shots but if anyone knows of someone with a sailboat who would like to be in the background they would be very welcome to sail out that afternoon.
So the more participation that we get the better the event can be.
Any other ideas on how to make this better?
I plan to post this event up on Model Mayhem this Saturday.
