This was taken in Feb. 14th 2004 in Grapevine. I have won a first place at the state fair, but no critique or opinions of what could have made it better. so LET FLY!

This is a scan of the original image, not the best quality but you get the point

I like the tree a lot...not sure what the specks are towards the bottom.

Me too .. Red X

Edit: Got it now.

I like the picture, but my first thought was "Is this a proper way to display the flag?"
I know you just took the picture, and I like it. Maybe because I had this reaction, it is what makes the picture special? Photography is much more complicated than just colors and focusing isn't it ?

i think i fixed it

the black specks at the bottom of the pic, are just things sticking up through the snow.

I like it a lot - I'm not surprised it won.
I think maybe the only thing I'd wonder about is that there's not much contrast between the sky and the snow (representative of the day I'd guess). Is it this monitor I'm using? (this one isn't calibrated.)

Someone else asked if it was an approriate way to display the flag. Is it hung the wrong way round? Or is that because it's outside and therefore, eg, unlikely to be taken down at night?
Otherwise, I can't see why this should be an issue, given what else the flag is used for (it must be the most commercialised design in the world - just think about what you can buy it on these days.)
For what little it's worth, I think it is respectful and show's the owners pride in displaying it.

Thanks! I have a few more that were taken on that same day here they are...

As you can see the sky was a problem.

I actually prefer the train ones, though for different reasons.

Nice pics.

I SO remember that day !!! - 12-05-2005, 06:55 PM

So cool. I went out that day and took a ton of shots. It was a great day. Love your initial tree/flag image and the Tuffy shots.... wish I'd thought to go down to the depot.
