Took these pics this morning of the snow/ice that hit our area.........still had ice on my porch when I got home from work this evening........last time I check the temp this evening, it was mid 20's...........

Debby, wow you sure got a lot more ice in Canton than I did in Plano!

I really like the first picture but it would be better if you could bring up the darks either with shadow/highlight tool or curves in Photoshop CS. If you shot RAW then you could even process it with 2 exposures and blend the two pictures.

Not sure what you mean by "bringing up the darks"?

Sorry, I didn't phrase that well. I mean I think it would look better if the dark trees were lightened some so you could see more of the ice on them. If it's OK with you I'll play around with you picture and see what I can do.

Thats fine........the original pic was darker than what I posted so I lightened it some already but feel free to play with it.

This has quite a bit of grain and noise because the darks are boosted so much. I think if you started with the original full size RAW file it would end up looking much better. Anyway, all I did was use the shadow/highlight tool in Photoshop CS to boost the darks and then use a curve to increase contrast in the darks and lights and the expense of the almost non-existent midtones.
