Saw a guy using a monopod on Wed, though he had a media badge on. When I went through security with my photovest no questions, in fact they even remarked "Oh we have a pro photographer coming in". The guy didn't even make me take the vest off, he just looked in the larger pockets to see the extra lens and batteries that I had in them.

Like mentioned above as long as you don't set up in a manner that could trip anyone with the legs it shouldn't be a problem.

With the displays this year in all the upstairs rooms in the Hall of State you can't really get a good shot of the Hall anyway inside.

So Michael have you gone yet?

My wife called the fair office and she was told there where no restrictions for the fair. However no tripods in the cotton bowl. So I guess it is whoever you ask. I have taken my gear and tripod in for the last several years. Good Luck.

FYI had an engagement shoot there Wednesday and had no problems with a monopod and two camera bags and two photographers. Matter of fact eveeryone was great the game people let us get behind the counters to get photos, ride the rides with cameras.

With the amount of strollers in that place, a tripod won't make any difference....

I go the last weekend. Not many people around so setting up a tripod is easy. I only go for night shots of the midway but its great time. We should do this on the last fri or sat night of the fair.
