I guess it would be bad to ask where Adriatica is right now.

we've passed by there in route to Mark's facial surgeon. I think it's totally stupid to charge photographers to use the place - they'd get by far more publicity and well thoughts if they didn't charge. If I went, it would be to simply have fun - don't have any clients to "pay" for it.

My night photography at Adriatica was not meant to be a way around the charges. It is in the vein the bell tower is an excellent subject for night time photography. I have been there several times between 10PM and midnight. I'm still waiting for a rainy or foggy night to my next Adriatica foray. But then I am old may just nap.

Oh come on..

They built props for you, and you asking them to do it for free b/c of some abstract "publicity"? Would you consider working for free, b/c of some remote possibility that some wee newspaper in middle of nowhere going to publish you and you will have SURGE in client's numbers?

Good work has to be paid. People deserve it. Both photographers and developers.

I am going to check place out :)

Well, we went there to shoot last weekend. My clients called and left a message and tried to pay the $50 fee that is supposedly being charged. Guess no one wanted the money that badly. They never returned the call. We went there and shot. No one hassled us, but we were prepared to pay the money if they said anything.

Thanks for the accurate, real time update Leslie....

I just had the same experience, noone answered the phone, so we left a specific message with regards to "where we are supposed to pay". I never received a call back.

You are welcome! Yeah, doesn't seem they are enforcing it too much. If they don't return our calls, they can't expect us to pay them.
