Photography Adventure - 12-18-2005, 07:21 PM

Well, my wife and I FINALLY have a 2 days off together, it has been over a year that this has happened. We want to go somewhere tomorrow to do some photography and are having a hard time figuring out where and what to shoot. I would appriciate any ideas that you all can give me. We are at a loss right now.

Thank you for any help.

Your Profile doesn't show where in Texas you are.

Or the DFW area at least.

What part of Texas are you in?

Monahans Sandhills State Park (about 4 hours away) might be interesting:

Area Attractions: Points of interest nearby include Balmorhea State Park; Million Barrel Museum in Monahans; the Odessa Meteor Crater, a national, natural landmark; and the Cities of Midland and Odessa. There is also a replica of Stonehenge at the UT Permian Basin Campus in Odessa.

Dinosaur Valley State Park (about 1.5 hours away):

Area Attractions: Nearby attractions include Meridian and Cleburne State Parks; Acton State Historic Site (the state's smallest state park); Somervell County Museum; Somervell County Expo Center and Amphitheater, Comanche Peak Visitor's Center, Squaw Creek Reservoir, and the Fossil Rim Wildlife Park. Turner Falls, OK. Talihina, OK along the Talimena Scenic Drive into Arkansas. North/West side of Lake Travis in Austin and the surrounding hill country. San Antonio River Walk.

Hope these suggestions spark an idea.

There's a town on the east side of Texas ... Jefferson about 2-3 hours east of Dallas on I-20, my wife and I stayed at a bed & breakfast a few years ago, supposedly some presidents have stayed there as well some nice scenery around the area.

If you are interested in wildlife, may I suggest Fossil Rim?

Get over to the Gaylord. See the ICE exhibit, and then see the hotel and have lunch.
