Cool Ft Worth Stock Show Parade 1-15-11 - 01-05-2011, 04:32 PM

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo All Western Parade
This is the largest non-motorized parade in the US- and is great to shoot. If you get there early walk north on Main down the Bridge over the Trinity and catch all the groups setting up for the parade-it stretchs quite a ways so be prepaired to walk a good distance.

I may head over there this year-then over to the Kimball and Carter to chcek them out and then back to Big D to prep driving down to San Antonio for the PPA convention the next day.

I shot it last year. Pretty sure can't make it this year, have a 3-day event in Dallas to shoot.

I would try to get to downtown before 9 am then park and walk the set up area (they are already starting to line up by 9) since it is a long parade-then start to hoof it back downtown by no later than 10:30 if your at the end of the parade group since it is walking back uphill!

Last Time I shot it there was a group of ladies who stood astride their steeds carrying flags during the actual parade.

BTW I thought that I had the parade pics online but I guess I never loaded them and they are on some hard drive of a comp that is now dead so I will be out there to shoot this event unless the weather is really lousy.

My partner rode in the parade with the Denton Roundup Club. If you have any pics of him or their group that didn't make the gallery, please let me know. I'll pay for prints. Same goes for anyone else who shot it.

This is the only one I can find. He is in the background on the left, between the two people in the foreground.

ETA: I got my own photos, but I'll pay for any others. I was standing in the back of my truck in the parkinglot near the announcers table, and didn't notice that they were in front of me until they were actually passing me. I did go to the other side when they looped around as well.

Chris everything I shot is there. One of the kids from my daughter's school was in that group so all my attention was getting lots of pics of her. I did not see them in the staging area either.

ps I shot there last year also ... looks like I shot pics of the Denton Club on the bridge. They are in the same general location on my webpage.
