Skyline Comparison - wide angle - 12-23-2005, 10:39 PM

This is as wide as the Kit Lens goes: 18mm. From Oakwood Cemetery. Notice the new grave in the lower right of the picture.

Bruce, I like the first picture although the horizon looks like it might be a little uneven. I bet it would look even better in spring with green grass.

Hey Bruce, I've been there! In fact I parked right in front of that gate, walked to the left of the gate to the railroad tracks to get this shot for the calendar I had made. That grave wasn't there at the time though. Good place to go get a shot from that angle.

Hey guys, I like both of your shots. That is a neat spot for views of the skyline. Too bad it is closed at night, (or maybe not).

I kind of favor the shot that includes the railroad bridge, just my .02.

Here's one I got when Panther and I went out there.

Merry Christmas.

It would be a great night location. . . problem is, it's not the part of town you really want to be on foot after dark. . . toting $$$$ around your neck.

I don't think mines any better Bruce, it's just a different viewpoint plus you were going wide. Tough to get the Pier One building in from that viewpoint but it's still a good shot. I like the shot you got too Jerry. I agree about being there after dark. I lived on Grand Ave. in my teens. It doesn't look anything like it did back then and they lock the gates at the cemetary at 6:00 pm. Wouldn't want to spend the night there.
