Downtown has too many places to see... Old Red Courthouse, Book Depository, Thanksgiving Square... the Zoo is just south of downtown on I35... the architecture at Fair Park just east of downtown on I30...

The Dallas zoo is good if you like zoo's that are a step above a pet store.
Go to Fort Worth.
The food is better there too.

Fair Park is good. Farmers Market can be good. After Image is fun to visit and a good area to shoot. The Myerson.
Then the Arts district downtown, West end, Big Red, lots to shoot right in the area.

The Art District at night especially the Nasher Center on Flora, translucent lighted Man on a pole. Colors change. Night shots of Reunion Center in Dallas are always interesting. Any part of downtown Dallas at night has good opportunities.

The Adolphus is lovely. We had our rehearsal dinner there. You are two blocks from the original Neiman Marcus store -always fun to check out. I'd definitely recommend you check out the Arts District. Some really cool buildings and don't miss the Dallas Arboretum. Someone included a link to it earlier. Dallas Blooms is going on now - and it is gorgeous and a once-a-year event, so your timing is right. Oh, and while the Ft. Worth Zoo is really nice, Dallas has just opened the Wilds of Africa exhibit, so it is definitely worth visiting if you are planning a zoo trip. You're also right off the DART line (just a few streets north of the Adolphus) and can take it to the zoo, so it's easy in/out.

If you are into aviation the Cavanaugh Flight Museum on the North side of Addison Airport is a good site. All planes are airworthy except maybe the Thud F-105. Cavanaugh Flight Museum - Addison Airport, Dallas, Texas | | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
