I am planning on going Sunday, as long as all goes according to plan. Not sure if I am taking my camera, since I just have a 55-200 to shoot with at this time and I am not sure if this will be good enough.

Where did you hear about that? I'd love to try and get some airplane pics without a million people in them.

The Blue Angels always do a practice show on Friday, along with the other performers, following the same schedule for Saturday and Sunday. They also do a lot of flying on Thursday to find landmarks and take local celebrities up for a ride. I doubt the base will be open, though.

I'll be there tomorrow. If you see someone wearing a long sleeve shirt shooting a 7D + 300f4 say hi.

I'm planning on going tomorrow. I haven't been to the base or shot at an airshow before. Anyone have suggestions regarding where to position myself, or what to expect?

I too will be wearing a long sleeve shirt. Shooting a D300s + 70-200f2.8, though.

For those of you coming thru the main gate hopefully they'll handle the traffic departure better tomorrow. In 55 minutes went 20 yds, chimped 22 gb of photos while I waited for traffic to move. Once "moving" it took another 20+ minutes to get to the main gate.

Sun is on the "wrong" side when the Blue Angels fly, but beggars can't be choosers.
