I'm putting notice at my job today and thought I'd pass it along here to see if there is anyone that would be interested in filling it. I'd love to have a few recommendations later when I do give word.
Here are the specs:
I work full time for the Dallas Mavericks NBA Team. Salary, 40 hrs a week. Mon-Fri 8:30-5:30. Full benefits completely paid, nothing comes out of your check for them. Pay is not great, but I think when i started it was in the mid 20's - 28000/yr. something in that range, but dont know specifically what they will be offering this time.
What you need to be able to do:
I am responsible for a ton of different things here. First and foremost is managing the merchandise website for the team. I shoot the product photos, edit them, write descriptions and upload to the site. Edit meta page titles and descriptions for
SEO. Also, i create banners for the site, facebook and twitter displaying things like new products and current sales. This is where the graphic design comes in. It's nothing super difficult, just simple graphic stuff. Need to know how to cut out images from pictures as well.
Also, you would be required to assist the warehouse manager unloading trucks when shipments come in, so being able to lift heavy boxes individually and move large pallets with manual pallet jacks is required.
Why im leaving:
My wife and I have said for the last several years that when we end up having kids we are going to move up north to a smaller town in Wisconsin where her sister and husband, and two young kids live. Well... we had our first baby in Feburary so the time has come! We are leaving the last weekend of the month so this needs to be filled quickly to have time to train for a week or two. I'll be leaving in i guess 3 weeks from today.
Requirements
-Adobe Photoshop CS skills (yeah its only CS, and yes i've tried several times to get upgraded to CS4, and now CS5

) Must have a decent knowledge of how to cut out images and place them on white backgrounds, and design basic banners. I'll link a banner i recently made so you can get an idea of the simplicity of them.
-Photography knowledge is a given. Hence the reason I'm posting here.
-Some eCommerce knowledge would be preferable.
-Able to lift and move heavy boxes often and operate a manual pallet jack.
-Knowledge of the NBA and a Mavericks fan is preferable.
I think thats about it for now. Just gauging interest so I can maybe have a name or two to pass along as a recommendation along with my notice. Let me know if you are interested!
