It is going to be repeated several times the next couple days, but usually overnight. This is in relation to the show at the Carter that ends on 1-8-06.
http://www.kera.org/avedon/ This show was put together this year for the 20th Anniversary of the original tour of the photographs.

May not be carried by your local PBS station anyway, reason this was posted in the DFW area and not the whole board.

It was a pretty good special, did show a few examples of him taking the portraits. One shocking thing was of the Cowboy in Wyoming and how about 20 years on him really aged him. The deep detail that his photos had, pictures were slightly larger than life, and his depth of field showed all of the 20 years of sun and hard work in the mans face.

I would say check your local PBS station and see if they are ever going to show it and if you can't find it listed request them to get the show and show it since he shot all over Texas and the West to do this and he actually passed away in San Antonio while shooting soldiers who had come back from Iraq. I remember when he died but didn't realize what Avedon was working on at the time and totally forgot that he was here in Texas when he passed.

The man had an eye!

I watched it this AM on the Tivo. I think the kernel I have loaded on the box allows me extract the video. I've never tried that, but I might see just how big it is. The actual runnin time is about 24 minutes. It's interesting, but I wish there was more of it. I love the style. Shooting an 8x10 format must be really cool.

Actually, looking I don't have it on netflix, though I have a few other Avedon programmes on there.

If you do manage to extract it I wouldn't mind a look ;)

Btw, if any of you get the Outdoor Channel, my tivo popped up a 5 shows coming up called Outdoor Photo Adventures
