There are 3 that I know of. The FW Camera Club, The Hope Church Camera Club and the LMRA Camera Club.

I'm a member of the LMRA (Lockheed Martin Recreation Area) Club and we have a good little group. You don't have to work at Lockheed to be a member either. I know people in the other 2 clubs and they have good things to say about them as well. The Fort Worth Club is probably the largest of the 3 and would be the best to meet people and make contacts.

Steve: I've been considering the LMRA Camera Club but thought it was mostly film cameras and not digitals. Do you actively participate in the club? What have you gotten out of it?

I also belong to the LMRA Camera Club. In fact, I am currently the president and program coordinator. We still have some film shooters but I think a good portion of the members are now shooting digital or are leaning that way.

Steve,

Like Mike said, we have a pretty good split (film/digital). The club owns their own dark room and studio, which you would have access to. We also meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month. The first meeting of the month is a program (guest speaker, slide show, techniques and demos) , and the 2nd meeting is a monthly contest.

For me, its nice just meeting with people who have similar hobbies.

I belong to the fortworth camera club, really good turnouts two times a month (first night is program and turn in of prints) (second night is judging). Through out the month there are planned photoshoots along with some extended outings. Members and leaders are trying their best to go more digital, guess losing to the dallas club really spiked some interest in going digital.
