I hate to break this to you guys, but you're grossly over estimating my profit. Each of the models will make $500 for the day ($25/photog). I have to pay the MUA($35/hr), studio($$$), and Greg. Plus food, drinks, and other incidentals. If I clear $500 for the day I'll be happy.
Now where was that discussion about day rates? Want to count the number of hours I spent finding models, planning, not to mention set up, and tear down? Trust me, I don't do this for the money.

500.00 for no telling how many hours of planning, hours of thinking of ideas to shoot, it's not much money. That's not even counting the time you've spent worring that everything will work out like you've planned. Contacting the models. Getting the studio ready. For some odd reason you have to want to hold a workshop. It's not about the money.

One last post here before the big shoot tomorrow...
Another late model change. Farah is not going to risk driving 500+ miles today with the possibility of freezing rain and snow somewhere across Arkansas. I agreed with her. She has been replaced by another amazing model Jill Rasco. Not only is Jill a 5'11" brunette bombshell, but she is a great photographer in her own right! Check my workshop page for an image and a link to her myspace page http://www.polodigital.net/workshops.htm You can see her photography work at http://www.jillrascophoto.com
If you have NOT contacted me about the dinner after the shoot, please do so ASAP. I need to get a count to the restaurant TODAY!!!
Please make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to the studio given the weather. I need everyone there by 9:00AM so we can keep on schedule!

She has so many different looks to her yet in her natural state you can see how truly beautiful she is. Lucky grab for all of us attendees.
See you all tomorrow, rain, sleet or snow!!

If you know Scott, you know he's not doing this for the money (at least not yet). He's certainly good enough to be charging 5 times what he is. Scott's always given back to the forum both in critique, knowledge and talent and this place wouldn't be the same without him.
Personally I think he's insane for coordinating 4 models (with how many switches now?), 20 amateur photogs, 3 studio setups and some nasty weather. But until he comes to his senses, I'm there when he puts something on.

Oh WOW, Scott! I love Jill's work! And I totally love that she fairs so well on both sides of the camera... if only we could all do that :) Can't wait to meet her! BTW... if the weather gets too severe, are we postponing the class? I mean, if there is like 2 inches or more of ice on the roads, should we all be risking our lives to get out there?

You know I've sort of been praying that the weather won't be that bad. The best news is that with the weather we've had for the last few weeks, the ground won't be cold enough to freeze. The bridges will be problems, but in general I'm not expecting that much ice on the majority of the roads.
If disaster strikes, then we'll have to postpone, but I won't make that call until late tonight. If you don't hear from me, then we're on.
