Update on Fort Worth Zoo Lion Cubs - 01-08-2006, 11:56 PM

We didn't get to the home for the cubs till nearly 11:00 am. Clearly it was nap time. I was told the cubs had been playing till about 10:30 so the first are from late morning and the second and third shot were using the 70-200 with 2X Tamron converter. Later, near closing time, things got a little more lively. Pretty sure feeding time is close to closing time.

Smile Very Hard To Tell - 01-09-2006, 12:10 AM

To tell the truth, that second shot of the lioness' head does not seem to have much image degradation at all caused by the 2.0X TC. I'm glad for you.

Thanks Pete, Bruce and Rick.

Bruce, I'm happy with the converter. It will be getting some use.

Pete, I was watching everything I thought but I missed that green grass until I saw it after down loading to the computer.

Those are some very nice shots! I've considered a 2x TC for my 70-200, but I've been concerned about image degradation. Yours don't appear to have suffered any.

Thanks John, Keith and Nancy.

John, I would think there is some degradation but I haven't seen it and no one has pointed it out yet. It will take a more trained eye than mine to find it and I welcome any comments from someone that knows what it is. And this is a Tamron converter, not the Canon. It is the better converter made by Tamron though. Matches the color of the 70-200mm 2.8L Canon lens too.
