Any DFW Nikonians interested in having an equipment show and tell? - 01-11-2006, 12:51 PM

I've talked with both PeteQ and Scott Watters about getting some of the local Nikonians together so we can swap tips, techniques, and tryout each others equipment. Let me know if anyone else is interested, I need to know an approximate number to see how, where, and when we could meet.

Some of the ideas I had for this thing:

-Setup and test a CLS system.
-I can setup my Color checker card and let people shoot some shots for ACR color calibration.
-Maybe convince some of our more notable/experienced members to give little mini technique talks about types of images and how to setup to take them.

Regardless of equipment, anyone is welcome attend, with the knowledge that it would be a Nikon based meeting.

Uh, of course.

I have only one SB-800 and don't do much with CLS, but I slept at a Holiday Inn Express once, so I must know something

Show and tell? Sure, i could Show Y'all how to use a Canon and Tell Y'all how to take good pictures.

Just kidding, that was a joke. We all know if you get enough nikon shooter in one place for a long time they will eventually come up with something good.

Very cool, we need one of those too. I have access to some conference rooms and such, but it would cost us. I'd like to keep this a freebe or as low as possible to try and garner more participation.

@Jake, Buddy, you're always welcome. We may need someone to go get pizza and such.

No but seriously, anyone is welcome to show up if they'd like.

I got 2 SB-800 so that's 3 so far. If we get enough, maybe we'll show up on google Earth.

Cool, we got some interest. I'm not waiting on David (lightimages) to respond to the availability of "His Place". When I get in contact with him, I'll pick out some dates and we kind vote/decide on the best time to have this. I'm thinking some time before the end of February, but we need to avoid the Super Bowl and Scott's workshop.

I am about 4 hours drive from you but certainly could be worth the drive. I need lots of help on using the sp800, I just do not use it any where close to it's capibilities. And it would be fun to met you folks.
