Lone Star Park NEW PHOTOGRAPHY RULES FYI - 05-30-2011, 07:35 PM

Terry and decided on the spur of the moment to head out to Lone Star on Friday.

Lone Star has been sold to Choctaw. They have new rules for photography. I was approached twice by security about having a professional camera. The first security person handled himself VERY well. He (Raymondo) was professional. He told me that they had new photography rules go in effect last week. He understood that I may not have known of the new rules. He called and got permission for me to shoot for personal fun. He wrote my info down and then let other security know that he had gained permission for me and my husband. What he could not do is get me a printed badge that oked me taking photographs.
THe second guy was head of security and once he knew I had spoken with Raymondo, and that Raymondo had gained permission for me, he was ok with it.
He thought I could view the rules on the website (I looked when I came home and could not find them) I don't know exactly what they are. What I do know that is you need to call ahead to get a pass. I was told to contact Bryan Pochman 817-723-7087, he is in the communication Dept.

Bummer about the new rules. At least they were willing to work with you.

Rob it seems like we will be able to shoot as long as it is for personal use. No commercial. We just have to get permission/access.

Thanks for the great info! I'll be sure to call ahead for access. Nice work and hope to see some shots posted (I haven't looked yet...).

There was a thread about this a week ago.
Out of curiosity (never been there) I emailed their PR contact and asked what
the policy was.
They never replied.

Ok, here is the deal. I just got off the phone with Bryan. We just need to give a heads up that we are coming. They want to ensure that you are not taking photos for commercial and/or sales and have cleared it with him. As long as we are doing it for personal fun it is ok, just call ahead and let him know.

That is good to hear. I know that Lone Star Park has been photo friendly, in fact there have been a few GTGs at the park.
