Well as scary as the last set of storms were last night, they also offered some of the best photo opportunities I have ever seen in this area. It was a spectacular display! Here's one shot that ended up OK. I left the bolt much more blown out than I usually do as I think it lends to it's power. You'd have to take the photo down at least 2 stops to see the bolt detail which is fairly incredible.  Joe |

I was texting Joe last night asking if he was shooting the lightning. It was my first attempt and I definitely have a lot to learn when it comes to shooting lightning... it's not as easy as just setting up and letting the camera do its thing. I probably shot about 250 shots and took away about 10 that didn't completely suck.
