Photo Scanning Request - 08-04-2011, 09:21 AM

Would anyone around the North Dallas / Frisco are be able and willling to scan some older photographs I have and simply turn them into hogh quality digital images?

I do not have a scanner, and the photos are for my fiance. They are of my the gentleman who would have been my future father in law had he not recently passed away. The photos have great sentimental value and I am not comfortable sending them off somewhere to have them scanned.

I would be happy to pay a reasonable cost for yout time.

Thank you!

Roughly how many do you have that need to be scanned?

Rough guess is about 100 photos. Most of them are 4x6, some are 5x7, a few are 8x10, and a VERY small amount are 8x10

If you have a lens that will let you macro focus, take a picture of them.
It is the same thing as scanning, only faster.

I would venture this would be faster process as well. Scanning could require about a minute a picture depending on scanner and computer used.

I have a Kodak PS410 that could probably scan them in just a few minutes if you are interested. I bought it to scan my mother's boxes of photos. It does a decent job but you would still probably need to clean up the final images a bit. When do you need them by? I'm out of town this weekend.

I'm hoping to have them done in a week or two. There is no "deadline"

Maybe I'll go look to buy a scanner for myself. I just fear I'll never ever use it again.

I'm just down the road in Flower Mound if you can wait until Tue evening. I'll be happy to let you use the scanner if you like.
