Thumbs up Excellent Color - 02-07-2006, 09:21 PM

These have a deep rich color, Dane, along with your excellent eye for composition. How's this DSLR camera compare with the Sony 717 in outdoor light like this?

This pics are a little darker than I would have liked. I probably should have stopped up a tad for the polarizer.

As far as a comparison to the the 717 in outdoor light: As long as you keep the 717 at ISO 100, it can produce JPEG images with resolution and saturation that can compete head to head with many entry level and prosumer DSLRs. The Sony CCD and Zeiss glass combo is a thing of beauty. Also, Sony's Night Framing feature does things in dark settings that the Nikon cannot. I was going to sell my 717 gear after buying the Nikon...but after a couple of outings with the new camera, I have decided to keep the Sony as a worthy secondary camera. I am imagining going to shoots carrying both cameras, possibly with a wide angle conversion lens on the Sony, giving me the ability to switch from telephoto to wide angle easily in the field.
