DFW Airport Photography Restrictions - 02-15-2006, 09:59 PM

Just a note that was brought up in another thread about restrictions in and around DFW airport. I will be doing some shooting out there soon and after the little discussion I thought I would see what the deal was striaght from the folks there. Anyway, here's the text of the response. Good info for airport shooters to know....

Pete,

The photo restricts are on the DFW Media site Restrictions under film permit. If this is strictly for personal use of the couple they do not need to file a film permit and you are free to shoot anything in public view except around TSA checkpoints. If they or yourself will be putting these out for commercial use then you do need to file a film permit and the appropriate fee.

Thanks

$600 for 0-4 hours $1,000 for 4-8 hours! Must carry a Million Dollar Insurance policy!
Guess they don't want photographers working there or just ones with big budgets. Plus they don't even give you free parking after dropping the bucks!
This looks aimed more to movie companies than just a photo shoot.

They probably don't want the average photographer out there trying to get stock airport shots. I'm sure this is geared toward the high end movie and commercial photographer that wants airport terminal scenes. The reason I put it out there is so that if you are ever in the airport or terminal taking pictures, you at least have a good idea of dfw's policy.
