I'm interested in photographing this tomorrow night, but it's in Ft. Worth, and I don't know my way around. Anyone interested in meeting up beforehand and going with me? Here is the info.:

Description We are going to be on a sidewalk on an overpass so cars can see us. We will read the bill of rights, and a statement from Barbara Jordan. I think it is handicap accessible. | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

Dude.. that's like 2 miles away from my house. It's right off on the corner of 820 and i30. Exit Bridge street from 30, or JTWhite from 820.
I may have to stop by after work tomorrow. What a weird place for them to gather.
ETA: Feel free to PM me if you want better directions!

Well, the 60's are definitely gone. Protests in the new millenium are apparently small and cold. There was a mix of people, most looked like either ex-hippies, college students, or college professors. The vigil was newsworthy for Telemundo (I think), that's the only video camera guy I saw. There was one cop who yelled at me for standing in the street to take a picture, so I went across to the other side of the road. Shot with a D50, 50mm, f/1.8, 1/40s, ISO 1600, and some numb fingers. I waited for a passing car's headlights to assist with some light since it was pretty much dark when this started.
Everybody was bunched up on a sidewalk along the bridge, so shots were either from across the street or at somebody's back. A long fast lens and a monopod would have been really helpful, but I own neither.

I wasn't able to go, but I was also worried that i would drive all the way to Ft. Worth for just a few people. I am glad I didn't go! You just never know with these things.

Thanks for posting this one shot of what appears to have been a fairly futile effort. I think you've captured the pathos of the event. Nice work.
