How Many Photograhers in Fort Worth Would - 03-08-2006, 03:20 PM

How many photographers in Fort Worth would like to have a get together closer to home? Most of the get togethers seem to be happening in the Dallas area and I am sure more people are from that area but it is a bit of a travel for those of us who live and work in Fort Worth and don't get off work until late plus driving in the traffic right after work can be a bit slow.

Post if you might like to set up a get together somewhere in the Fort Worth area.

We definitely don't want to exclude you guys from the GTG and I have been giving some thought to this delimma. It sure would be cool if once a month we had a more accessible GTG for everyone in the DFW area. We really do want to meet everyone and wish things were closer for everyone. I think one solution is the make the big monthly GTG on a weekend day so we don't have to worry about traffic jams and stuff.

Also sometimes purpose makes a difference on attendance... I am sure some of you Ft. Worth folks will be attending the B-Day Bash for Leslie... since its not just a normal GTG! Its going to be late enough for anyone to show up at anytime after they get off work. We really want you guys to come!

Give some thought to the monthly idea as well so we can bridge the gap!

Well, in between Dallas and Fort Worth, is Arlington.... Yes, that it's. I think all future events should be in Arlington to be fair. :D

Sunday the 26th there will be a GTG some where between Dallas and Fort Worth. It was called a Canon GTG but really anyone that want to talk camera and equipment is welcome.
I was just thinking of more equipment talk then like a group shoot out. Eat, talk and learn something at the same time.

But lunch or dinner anytime would be good too

I'm totally down for something... I just have a hard time getting to locations outside Tarrant CO.... Since I live, work, play, and shoot all in Tarrant Co.
There are alot of Places in the Mid-Cities that could work... NE Tarrant area. Hurst, Bedford, Euless and of Course Downtown has a plethora of fun places.

I'm up for a FW get together... I've traveled to Addison and to Arlington (any more "A" towns we need to visit?) for dinner and lunch, so anything in FW should be a piece of cake!

I was thinking strongly about a Tejas de Brazil lunch on Thursday next week... are they open? Are people willing?

(There is one in FW as well as Addison.)

Actually, it would be cool if you guys in FtW would have a get together on a weekend night at Joe T. Garcias. I've never been there, but I heard it's great. Been wanting to go there for awhile. Just looking for an excuse.

Joe t's is highly overrated... in fact , no one goes there any more because it is too crowded......

they do make the best margaritas in the state. worthy of going there any time.

Yeah, I was very disappointed with my Joe T's experience. Hardly the legend I was expecting. Food was so-so, beer wasn't cold, service was horrible and at almost $40 for a few tacos and drinks it didn't leave me waiting to go back.... At least at Taco Bell for $40 you'll leave full!

So far Reata and Del Frisco's are the ones that beckon for my dinner dollar. Texas de Brazil is up there also, especially when you really want to strap on the feed bag!

Turn your speakers DOWN.. they obviously haven't been watching our threads about how evil flash is...

Only open for lunch on Fridays in Fort Worth. :(

Addison is open every day for lunch.. so much for that idea for a Fort Worth lunch get together.
