Here's one straight out of camera, and one with noise ninja and USM.

The bottles of the beer persuasion that you see above may have been left by past patrons. I do not recall any of the TPFers ordering such, although the possibility is that I am incorrect in my recollection.

I can say that PHOTOGRAPHY was discussed. Richard Avedon, Robert Capa, glass plates, emulsions, Metol, D-76, snip tests. large format, 120 film, pull/push processing, Cibachrome, dye-transfers, Eliot Porter, Amon Carter Museum, Softars, wave behavior of photons, digital sensors, lens coverage, LightJets, and Vaseline, among other topics were discussed. I am positive about that and have witnesses.

Great time last night and it was nice to see the new and old faces (no I don't mean old as in years)! I really enjoyed the history, chemistry and processing lesson. It really is intriguing and I hope I can see it all in action one day. I am definitely one of the newbies that came in during the digital era and its nice to see such passion for the roots. I fully appreciate the convenience of digital, but can also better understand the passion of photography's origins. There is so much to making a print, I can definitely see how you would take a lot of pride in the efforts expended in getting your shot. Heck, I think I got a little sexually aroused at the thought of shooting with a medium format camera, now that I understand a little more about what goes into the process of getting a print.

Anywho... nice meeting all of you and I look forward to our next meeting. Oh and to those of you that voted for Grapevine and didn't show... bad baby.. bad baby :)

The 20D uses the same sensor and has equally impressive results.
Here is the Fina sign at ISO 1600 only resized. This was .JPG since PS doesn't support 30D RAW yet.

It looks a little soft.... camera shake....

Great meeting everyone last night!

The iso of the 20d/30d in the reason I sold my 300d and got the 20d. I can print iso800 with out any NR that look good. That and it's a lot faster.

I can't believe Josh has his laptop on the bar next to all those beers!!! I would totally knock a drink over within about 2 minutes.....but I'm clumsy like that.

Sounds like everyone had a great time :)

Erin had her laptop out, too. She was unafraid of beer spills on her new HP and actually left to go chase storms for lightning pictures. Quite the brave and geeky group.
