Looking for red barn.... - 04-11-2006, 09:00 AM

My wife would like a photograph of a red barn in a farm yard to hang in a room in our house.

I live in Allen,TX. (close to Plano/McKinney) Can anyone give me a hint of where I might find a suitable subject for this "assignment"?

Thanks in advance,

Alan

yes, yes, there is one close to you... in my "backyard" - Frisco actually.

But not sure if the size is big enough for you.

Go to Preston, across La Hacienda restaurant (ie W of Preston).... behind the Mattress place, next to Richardson Bike Mart.

That's the only one I know of.

Alan,

Here's an easy 45 minute to 1 hour drive from Allen.

Take 75N, to McKinney, take 380 east ...... approximately 3 miles east of McKinney is a road on left hand side F.M. 1827 ... follow that windy road past New Hope to Alveda ... there are a bunch of small farms and barns along the road, continue following #1827 where it turns left and heads north to the end where the road comes to a "T" at FM-545. Turn left onto FM 545, that will take you back to Melissa, turn left on 121 and it will turn into the onramp for southbound on 75.

There's a lot more places but hope this might get you started to find what you're looking for.

Randy

Red Barn - 04-11-2006, 10:30 AM

There's a red barn at Samual Farm, off hwy 80 in Mesquite. There's lots of old tractors and stuff also. I think admission is still free.

Thanks for the great suggestions! Perhaps this weekend I will get a chance to take a few and then I'll share them on this thread!
