Nice photos...

Gotta ask but is this a Darwin Award Candidate? Looks like he had a paint can in his lap when he made impact.

How you doin'?

He was a professional painter and had a ton of paint in the inside of his car. It all exploded and completely painted the interior.

I think the black truck ran the redlight but I'm not sure... the police were tight-lipped about something... but they were very friendly.

I was I about 4 minutes from there at the time. Maybe I should get a police/fire scanner. Wait. If "Great Success REQUIRES Great Effort" means I would have to get out of the car into today's heat, never mind. It's yours, Wil.

I think you'll be OK, they have a thin candy shell. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Bill, it was a little warm but not too bad. I wasn't there very long. It only took about a couple of minutes or so to take those photos and to talk to the cops and firemen. I'm always willing to "go the extra mile" for wreck photos. Here's one from in March when I was in Saint Louis:

As with the ones yesterday, the cops basically just get out of your way and even offer "cool" suggestions of what to take photos of. When I took the ones in St. Louis, I stood in the middle of the street right next to the cop. He asked me if I was in his way! I told him "Nah, you're ok" and then actually chatted with him about it for a couple of minutes.

As unfortunate as these events may seem, I still like to photograph them.
