at the dallas skyline. I didn't find a spot far enough away beside memorial hospital which was too far. And this place I found was too close. And I couldn't shake that tree out of my way. by the way I didn't use a tripod casue I forgot it at home. With all the stress I had today, I'm suprised at how still I was.

That's pretty darn good for no tripod, ERIN. :)

I need to do a shoot like this sometime.. maybe we'll get a group together again (safety in numbers) and it will be a convenient time for me.

Erin, damn good for hand-held! Next time, set the camera on top of your car, zoom in just a little (if needed to avoid the top of the car), set ISO down to 200, and use your timer to take the photo on bulb mode. I think I remember you telling me that your camera only went down to 200 right?

Good shot, Erin. When you have your tripod with you, you can take several shots, stitch them into a panorama, and say, "To Heck with Super Wide-Angles."

I just wanted to let you (and other people) know that in addition to the Methodist Hospital parking garage there is another good location for Dallas skyline shots - Trammell Crow Lake Park (3700 Sylvan Ave.). It's on Sylvan Avenue south of Irving Blvd.

Here's a picture I took there.

I went down there at 11:30p one night after work BY MYSELF with ALL my camera gear on the Sylvan ave Bridge Just to get a photo of the Dallas Skyline with the trinity river flooded. I thought my husband was going to KILL me for doing it By myself that late at night! hehehe It wasnt too bad.
