Red One - 04-06-2005, 09:52 PM

That red one (model?) is clear and sharp. That's one of the better shots of a plane in that attitude posted so far. Thanks.

Thanks, that is a neat place to shot, lots of color and things to shot. I want to go back again when there is not as many people. It was packed that day.

Nice shots Mark.

As discussed in some of the other threads, it was a tough day for shooting on Saturday without a cloud in the sky and shooting into the sun. Looks like you managed to salvage some sharp ones though--well done.

BTW, what kind of rig were you shooting with?

Here's a few of mine that look rather similar! All from my Nikon D100 + 70-200mm.

Thanks BB. That first picture of yours of all 6 jets is amazing. Wish I had gotten something like that.

I was shooting with a D70 and Sigma 70-200mm F2.8. First time I used that lens and I love it.

Mark,

I guess it's a trade off--I got the 6 jet delta, but you got the classic 4 ship diamond better than I did. Hopefully the practice will mean that the next time they come to town, we'll both nail all the shots!

I've heard good things about the Sigma. I was shooting the Nikon 70-200 VR and love it, though I would have liked just a bit more reach during some parts of the show. Maybe I'll go pick up a TC 1.4 or 1.7 before the next one.

yeah I has thinking the same thing about the reach of the lens. I bought a TC just for the air show but left it at home.
