Dallas Skyline Sunset Shoot - 05-23-2006, 05:52 AM

Hey all.. my photo club is making noises about wanting to do a sunset shoot of the Dallas skyline similar to what a group from here did last October...

Anyone got any details on that shoot? Where it was done, what permissions you got, and how you managed a police escort?

If memory serves me right the Police Escort at the one shoot was a friend of one of the photographers who wasn't on duty at the time.

If you have a group of more than just a handful of people you probably should have little if any problems, unless you do something crazy to bring attention to yourselves up there.

Methdist Hospital - But Perhaps should ask for Permission - 05-23-2006, 06:19 PM

Yes, Methodist Hospital is the place. As a courtesy, you might ask the administrative staff for permission. While it is a public hospital, they can set rules and of course they are naturally more vigiligant about security these days. When I asked for permission last July 4, I was informed "no, I needed to ask in advance", but security did later allow me and several others tot ake pics. My point: A little upfront work might help help ensure the photography community maintains good relationship with the hospital. I would hate to think that one day they might have a rule: No pictures. Just my $0.02.
