So I have this nice new laptop.. but the colors seem off. Anybody got one of those color profiling spider like things I could borrow/rent? I'd be really happy.

Not unless you want to bring your laptop all the way to Coppell. Even then, the color will creep on you after a while.

I have a Gretag Macbeth Eye-One Display 2, and am pretty happy with it. If our schedules mesh, you're welcome to try it. You'll need to load the software, though.

Make sure that the laptop has the controls (usually via software on the laptop) to control what you need. Also, be aware that angle of view will impact what you see as well as running on AC vs. DC. Finally, some laptops have an "ambient light sensor" that will automatically adjust brightness based on ambient light.

All of these things get in the way of "calibrating" a laptop. Not saying it can't be done - just that it is a much more dynamic world.
