Any interesting 'out of the way' places? - 05-25-2006, 09:45 PM

I'm planning on going down 380 up in McKinney with a friend later and looking for random old buildings and abandoned places, simply by hunting and using Google maps. I'm wondering if anyone actually knows of some interesting rural decay type stuff though, other than McKinney? Or even urban decay, like if there's an old factory or something in Deep Ellum we could get into. Heck, even a general photo op that isn't exactly the norm. I'm wanting to find new places that spark my interest - haven't had that in a while!

I've been inspired by http://www.opacity.us/ and http://jloliver.hostultra.com/ =D Help appreciated! Ciao.

I recognize the second one from your previous work, Dokk.. but where is that first set of pictures from?? That's an awesome looking place, too.

The second set of images are all from the same location. It's a rather large place and offers many photo ops but I try to guard the actual location due to a large amount of vandalism that occurs there. The majority or the decay at this location is actually not natural but caused by vandals and the curious that don't pay attention and cause damage. Including one group who started breaking all the antique rose glass mirrors in the third photo of the second group claiming that the mirrors were a portal allowing evil spirits enter our world from the other side.

The first set of photos were taken at a location in Ft. Worth. It's amazing how many abandoned buildings there are out there and many of them have historical interest. Anyone interested in shooting at these or other location are more than welcome to PM me and we can set up a photo safari. I have Saturday and Sunday off this weekend if anyone's interested.
